Violinist Playing Music

Our Encore Orchestra is a beginning-intermediate ensemble designed for young musicians who have been playing their instrument for at least one year and are ready to take the next step in their musical journey. This orchestra is perfect for students who feel fairly confident with their instrument, are dedicated to practicing outside of class, and have a strong desire to continue learning and improving.

In the Encore Orchestra, students will have the opportunity to enhance their skills with a bit more freedom to explore the music they’re passionate about. We’ll work on more complex rhythms, key signatures, and techniques, while also offering opportunities for solos and small ensemble features. Students in this group should be able to work independently, write in their own finger numbers when needed, and take ownership of their musical growth.

We meet once a week for one hour, so consistent practice at home is essential. To support independent practice, we’ll continue sending home homework sheets with clear goals and guidance. While private lessons are not required, they are highly encouraged to build confidence and reinforce class concepts. We also offer private lessons through our program, and parents are welcome to reach out with any questions.

The Encore Orchestra is all about pushing musical boundaries while having fun, collaborating with peers, and building lasting skills. We’re excited to help young musicians grow in a supportive and dynamic environment!

What do I need to bring to class?

Thanks to our generous donations, we are able to supply most of the music for this class! We do ask that they purchase the theory book listed below.

Students should bring a pencil, their instrument and accessories, music stand and most importantly, their enthusiasm! Let's make some music!
