
About the Teacher
Diana Cayler-Ellis
Diana Cayler-Ellis is a seasoned performer and arts professional with extensive experience in opera, musical theatre, and classical vocal music. She performed for five seasons with Opera Idaho as a Resident Company Mezzo-Soprano, appearing in productions such as Carmen and La Bohème. She also served as the company’s Production Manager from 2022 to 2025, overseeing the technical and artistic aspects of each opera production.In addition to her professional stage work, Diana has been active in community theatre for over two decades, with credits in Shakespeare, contemporary plays, and family musicals. Most recently, she portrayed Mother Abbess as a guest artist in Northwest Nazarene University’s 2023 production of The Sound of Music. Her musical background includes years of choral singing in university and community ensembles, with a focus on classical, sacred, and jazz repertoire.
In the past, Diana has taught elementary music in Nampa and private voice at NNU, as well as leading various church music programs. This year, she continues her work as an instructor and guest artist at Northwest Nazarene University and will be directing the university’s opera production this fall. She is passionate about helping students explore their creativity and grow in confidence through the performing arts.
